It's essential to select a bulb with a base that matches your fixture's socket. Type A bulbs predominantly utilize a medium screw base, also known as an E26 base. This is the standard size for most household lighting fixtures across North America, making it a versatile choice for a wide range of applications. However, you'll also occasionally encounter smaller candelabra bases (E12) on A15 bulbs specifically designed for decorative or appliance use. These smaller bases are often found in chandeliers, sconces, and certain types of appliance lighting.
