The RAB SHARK8/PIR is a commercial 8ft Vapor Tight field-adjustable linear washdown and strip light engineered to deliver up to 14,201 lumens with field-adjustable 100W/80W/60W power settings and switchable 3500K/4000K/5000K color temperatures. Operating on 120–277V electrical systems with 0–10V (down to 10%) continuous dimming, this luminaire provides durable illumination for demanding commercial and industrial environments. Equipped with a factory-installed Passive Infrared Occupancy Sensor (PIR, up to 40 ft mounting height and 40 ft detection diameter), it automates occupancy and daylight harvesting out of the box. Built with a UL Listed for wet locations rating, it is qualified for commercial utility rebates under DLC 5.1 Listed standards and features an impact-resistant, IP66-sealed, UL 746C F1 weatherability-rated, and NSF-certified polycarbonate washdown enclosure.

Smart & Control Features

The SHARK8/PIR linear washdown luminaire includes a factory-installed Passive Infrared Occupancy Sensor (PIR) and supports standard 0–10V wired dimming:

• 0–10V Continuous Dimming (Standard): Dims smoothly down to 10% on standard 0–10V DC low-voltage control circuits. Compatible with commercial dimmers and centralized building automation systems (BAS).
• Integrated PIR Occupancy Sensor (/PIR): Operates on 12VDC (30mA, 50/60Hz) with a 40 ft maximum mounting height and 40 ft detection diameter at 40 ft mounting height (-40°F (-20°C) to 140°F (60°C) sensor operating range). Default settings: Motion Sensitivity High, Brightness 100%, Hold Time 20 minutes, Standby to Dim 20%, Standby Time 1 minute, When Vacant Off, Daylight Disabled.

Adjustable sensor settings—including standby dimming level (10%/20%/30%/50%), standby time (0s/10s/30s/1min/5min/10min/30min/60min/+∞), and daylight threshold (2Lux/10Lux/30Lux/50Lux/80Lux/120Lux/Disable)—require the handheld multi-sensor remote control (catalog # MSR1, sold separately). Also available in Lightcloud and Lightcloud Blue wireless mesh configurations (sold separately).

Electrical

Powered by a Class 2 constant current driver operating on 120–277V AC at 50/60Hz. Delivers high electrical efficiency with a Power Factor of 99.9% at 120V (96.1% at 277V) and Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) of 3.26% at 120V (11.62% at 277V). Integrated 2kV surge protection protects internal electronics against transient voltage spikes. Includes pre-wired 0–10V dimming leads.

Emergency Battery Backup: Available in `/E` battery backup configurations (120–277V models, sold separately) to provide a minimum of 90 minutes of standby illumination during a primary power failure (32°F (0°C) to 102°F (40°C) battery operating range; Battery Backup Light Loss Factor: 0.104).
